The Arena Soccer National Teams of USA (USNAST) and Mexico will bring the fast-moving, high scoring game of Arena Soccer to the El Paso County Coliseum, as part of a two-game Texas tour on Sunday September 17, 2017 as preparations continue for both teams for the World Minifootball Federation World Cup this October in Tunisia.

USA will take on Mexico in the game, set to kickoff at 6 p.m. at El Paso County Coliseum. Doors for the game will open at 5 p.m. Tickets, starting at $13, are on sale now at the Coliseum box office. This will be the first time USA matches up against Mexico in El Paso for any type of competition.

Under the governance of the American Soccer567 Association, the USNAST won the inaugural WMF World Cup in the United States in 2015. Many of the players who are part of the teams play in the Major Arena Soccer League, the highest level of arena soccer in North America, which features the El Paso Coyotes who will be entering their second season playing home games at the El Paso County Coliseum. The Coyotes just recently signed several members of the Mexico National Arena Soccer Team who are scheduled to appear in the upcoming game.

“Some of the best players in North America are coming to El Paso to showcase the game of Arena Soccer,” said Bernie Lilavois, the general manager of the USNAST. “We want to thank the El Paso Coyotes for hosting this game and hope that fans will come out, check out what arena soccer is all about and support both this game and the El Paso Coyotes as well in the future.”

Arena soccer is played much like ice hockey, on a surface the size of a hockey rink, with six players on the field at the same time. Players are able to substitute during the run of play, with certain penalties resulting in man advantage situations. Scoring is increased on the smaller surface, with games featuring 20 or more total goals scored between the two teams.

Rosters for the game will be announced in the upcoming weeks. More information on the USNAST and the game can be found online at
